How successful was the League of Nations in reaching its aims 1920-29?

When the League of Nations was set up, it has four main aims. They were: to gain ground nations to disarm; to discourage aggression; to meliorate living and working conditions of autobus whole round the World; and to encourage countries to cooperate.
